New zine for the underground core movement!

bassdistortion.wordpress.com

Here's a quote for an introduction:

Bass Distortion Zine’s Mission statement:

Bass Distortion Zine is born out of interest for spreading information about:
- Harder uncommercial electronic music such as underground hardcore techno, speedcore, breakcore, free tekno and rhythmic noise on a worldwide scale.
- Interesting artists or event concepts that push the music and scene forward and break boundaries. This is not about the superstars who made the most profitable concepts or tracks. We are not afraid of discovering unknown musical territories.
- Musicians in these styles who bring the unconvenient truth about the world we live in. These issues will be discussed as well. We are interested in the punk attitude of this music which fortunately hasn’t been completely wiped out yet by consumerism, fancy club parties and harder values.
- DIY culture and attitude in these music scenes. We want to show that things can be done differently than in the supposed commercial status quo.
- The important “small people” worldwide who spread this music, culture and message by organizing their own events or, in case they are the only dedicated people in the area, by playing it at other events.
- Local scenes.
This will be realised in the form of interviews, articles, reports etc.

Format:

1. This blog to bring the most up-to-date material (some urgent information can’t wait for the actual zine Wink and we can also link some video and audio this way).
2. (E)-zines:
- 20-40 pages.
- Black & white.
- 2 types of .pdf versions: one which can be read digitally and other one for printing/photocopies.
- Zines are to be handed out or sold (for the cost of paper/printing) at local underground parties, art events or similar gatherings as well as squats or other autonomic spaces etc. worldwide.
- A zine will be made once there is enough material for it.
- Since this is voluntary DIY action there won’t be a deadline when a zine is to be put out. We do this at our own pace for the education and fun, so it shouldn’t become a burden.

So far we have interviews of Realicide, Splatterkore, Mono-Amine and iGoA.. more articles (also other than interviews) are on their way!

If you want to get involved, perhaps contribute something about the French underground scene, check the ABOUT page. Hoping that this can help bringing the global underground network closer together as well!
